Frisson – Interwoven Paths
1970-01-01 @ 12:00 am
Join Modern Sound Collective’s Frisson in our final concert of the summer season! Interwoven Paths invites us all to reflect on the meaningful connections in our lives, past and ongoing, that have helped to shape the direction of our own journey. Crossing paths with other people can bring up a wide array of feelings, both challenging and beautiful to experience. By walking together on the same path, even just for a while, we can have a magnified impact on our community and the world around us.Frisson’s performance will include repertoire by composers such as Sami Anguaya, Stuart Beatch, Katerina Gimon, Marie-Claire Saindon, Tracy Wong, and more! This program heavily features the works of current Canadian composers.
Frisson is a non-auditioned, summer choir of over 40 voices conducted this season by Nathan Gritter, Nila Rajagopal, Tyrese Walters, and Meredith Wanstall, and accompanied by Nicholas Wanstall. They perform a variety of contemporary repertoire spanning genres and cultures and are committed to building the choral community among the youth of the GTA. Over eight beautiful years of singing, Frisson has performed music from Indonesia, Korea, South Africa, Sweden, Latvia, and from all over Canada and the United States, and has premiered three new choral works and many new arrangements of pop songs by young composers from within the MSC community.
